Technology transfer relationships, whether they are between companies or between a company and a university, are becoming increasingly complex as global activity in intellectual property in the life sciences increases and the nature of the needs of the industry changes as never before. These relationships, both in terms of negotiation and execution, have been especially challenging as more and more cross-border relationships are put in place. This session will identify the issues that the parties must recognize and resolve and will recommend strategies for the identification of partners, a diligence and license negotiation strategy, identifying the respective needs and requirements of the parties, development of a collaborative plan, and managing the relationship during the development period.
