Proteogen has developed ‘SX-Chip’ such as Kinase Chip and Phosphatase Chip based on microwell chip platform, which provides a useful assay tool for chip-based focused screening of novel lead compounds. Kinase Chip, a kinase assay system with intact protein substrates immobilized on the chip surface is a useful assay tool not only for basic research, but also for screening of novel kinase inhibitors such as anti-cancer agents. We have already demonstrated that the Kinase Chip was successfully applied for screening of novel Aurora kinase inhibitors from chemical libraries. The microwell chip can also be applied for development of Phosphatase Chip applicable for screening of PTP1B inhibitors as anti-diabetic compounds. Demonstrating that the microwell chip platform is a useful assay tool for novel lead generation as well as advancement of kinase and phosphatase research, some of experimental results will be presented.
